Bike Bores Unleashed
Starting on BBC 2 last night ‘By Any Means’, despite sounding like the title of a Seagal movie, sees chirpy Charley Boorman travelling from his home town in Ireland to Australia. You’d be forgiven for thinking a lot of the distance travelled (across a whole 25 countries) would be covered on motorcycle, but it isn’t. With over a 110 modes of transport the show adds some much needed diversity to the auto culture our Charley so adores and which Long Way Round was lacking, that and there’s a lot less moaning (notably because of Ewan McGregor’s absence). On every Sunday at 8pm the show proves the journey is just as important as the destination, oh and that the BBC will lob money at anything travel related.
