Simian Celebration

Kid Acne gave us a shout to let us know he’s just taken part in a fake road sign project in Lyon. Entitled ‘Panos 2013′, 100 fake road signs painted by a whole bunch of artists were put up all around the city and you can see the lot here. Ackers chose a smurf for one of his decals, good stuff, we love smurfs
Scrawler extraordinaire Mr Jago seems to have ditched the pens in favour of the paint for his latest exhibition. Running at London’s Stolen Space gallery from the 12th to the 28th of September expect all manner of wish-washy media types to be quaffing free grog and talking utter, utter shite on the opening night. You-have-been-warned
To be frank, we’re as happy as kids with shit load of stickle bricks and a case of Irn Bru that Dave The Chimp is in our next issue and inked our cover. To tide you over until issue 6 comes out here’s some of Chimp’s handy work
Mark Ward’s Americana inspired show has just opened downstairs at London’s Slam City Skates and it looks just super, even Hosoi was backing it on the opening night. Really what else do you need to know?
It’s just premiered in the US and hopefully, paint drenched fingers crossed, it should be making an appearance on this side of the pond sometime soon. Directed by Harry Kim Dirty Hands: The Art & Crimes Of David Choe documents the frenetic Choe as he ‘gets up’ in his unique and resolutely oddball way all over the globe. Can’t wait to see this it looks hilarious.

If you can, get along to Manchester’s Richard Goodall Gallery this Saturday, that’s the 17th, for a one off show/book release/signing from up and coming US-based artists Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters, Colin Christian and Sas Christian. They’ll be in attendance so feel free to ask them dumb questions about their work between 12 and 5.

Long time pal, part-time Barista and full time lurker Russ-Wease-Hell has finally got the web portal for his Sketchstance fanzine up and running and amongst the nuggets of wisdom and doodlings on there is a graphic for an upcoming Hot Club De Paris shirt. And while their NME friendly, Cap N Jazz, barbershop stylings aren’t exactly my cup of tea, I can’t deny that firstly, they’re jolly nice chaps and secondly, that their latest fabric offering is truly epic. Oh sod it, I do kind of like a couple of their songs. Go visit them and Russ now. Niceness 1 - Cynicism 0

Manchester’s Richard Goodall Gallery is hosting the quaint and possibly even a little bit spooky work of American painter Kendra Binney from the end of this month. So if it looks like your cup of Earl Grey click here for further details/opening times/prices etc why dontcha?
Set-up to coincide with the centenary of the great man’s birth The Imperial War Museum North is now showing a collection of George Rodger’s exceptional war photographs.
