Yep, that’s right, according to a bunch of movie blogs, and even The Guardian, Will Ferrell will be reprising his role as Ron Burgundy in a forthcoming Anchorman sequel. And we couldn’t be happier. Go read Ryan Gilbey’s recent interview with the great man when you’ve finished laughing.

‘Reggae Is Evil’ - Head Of Digital Development

To say our web wizard wasn’t too happy when he got wind I was going to post a couple of tracks from the kind people at VP/Greensleeves up onto our MP3 player is an understatement. I wonder if his loathing of reggae extends to Levi Roots’ deliciously spicy sauce? Mark? Mark?

We’ve been listening to this on a fairly heavy rotation in the last week or so as we steer the good ship issue 7 across the turbulent seas of unanswered emails, unanswered phone-calls, cancelled interviews and low resolution photography. It has helped. Bringing together Dark Throne’s first four EPs in one re-packaged place if you’re a fan of Norwegian Black Metal, Norway or indeed Metal you need to have this.

Issue 6 should be sitting in stores in a week or so and amongst the goodness contained within it is an interview with Voice Of The Seven Woods‘ Rick Tomlinson. Here’s a snap of the man himself looking just about as happy as someone who hates having their photo taken can be.

Cute as kittens in an old shoe this little documentary revolves around Paul Mawhinney and his truly epic record collection. Sadly Paul is being forced to sell his shelves and shelves of long players and this be his story. Enjoy.

I’m Batman

dark-knight-rooftop.jpg We couldn’t manage to squeeze this into issue 6, so here’s the wonderful Mr. Tillet’s review of everyone’s favourite latex festishist.

The Dark Knight

Director: Christopher Nolan

If ‘Batman Begins’ wiped the slate clean for a new telling of the story, then ‘The Dark Knight’ chalks a huge red smiley face onto it.

Heath Ledger takes the joker the only way he can to beat Jack Nicholson at it - by becoming more sinister and deranged. He completely steals the show and blows up plenty of Gotham- but that alone doesn’t make the film. The Dark Knight furthers Batman as a brooding force to be reckoned with. Christian Bale continues his subtle, considered version of the character and adopts a Megatron voice, though he barely speaks – instead opting for plenty of rage and violence. Plus, he cuts Bruce Wayne close to his Patrick Bateman, definitely a plus.

Possible wild-card Aaron Eckhart casts off initial worries (he was in crap rom-com ‘No Reservations’) as District Attorney Harvey Dent and looks particularly stunning in his Two-Face guise. As for the rest of the cast – it’s crazy there can be a film with Gary Oldman and Michael Caine and neither be in the starring role – but it really is good enough to cast actors as supporting actors, another impeccable addition to director Christopher Nolan’s oeuvre.

Essentially ‘The Dark Knight’ is a tour-de-force of how action films should be made. It’s dark and brooding and sinister and mean, yet has the key points of being believable and enjoyable. Hulk, Spidey, Iron Man, Wolverine and all the other lame fucks out there had better be taking notes. Batman would never end up dancing and being emo.
